A Day in the Life of a Forensic Social Worker:

Join a secure inpatient service and work as part of a dedicated multi-disciplinary team supporting forensic patients with complex mental health needs. In this role, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality social work support to service users detained under the Mental Health Act

  • Conduct safeguarding assessments and liaise with external safeguarding authorities

  • Support risk management, care planning, discharge coordination, and family liaison

  • Work closely with internal professionals including nurses, doctors, and psychologists

  • Ensure accurate documentation, tribunal reports, and adherence to legal and ethical standards

  • Enjoy an on-site position with no community travel and free meals provided each day

Requirements & Qualifications:
  • Current and valid Social Work England registration

  • Experience working within forensic inpatient services

  • Strong working knowledge of the Mental Health Act and safeguarding procedures

  • MAPA (or equivalent PMVA) training is essential

  • Confident working independently and collaboratively within secure settings

Working Hours & Contract Duration:

This is a part-time role working 3 days per week: Tuesday to Thursday, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM. The position begins in June and is an ongoing contract with potential for extension based on performance and service needs.
