KS2/KS3 Nurture Teacher

We are seeking a KS2/KS3 Nurture Teacher for a part-time role in a secondary school. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys the dynamics of a class teacher but is looking for a new challenge, possibly with experience in an SEN environment. The role involves bridging the gap for students and may include some specialist teaching, such as PE or Maths.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the needs of KS2 and KS3 students in a nurture group setting.
  • Implement strategies to support students with special educational needs, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and staff to plan and coordinate lessons that integrate specialist subjects as required.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, adapting teaching methods and materials to meet their individual needs and abilities.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages students to engage in learning and develop positive behaviours.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and other professionals to support student development and wellbeing.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience in teaching KS2 and KS3 students, with a strong understanding of the curriculum and pedagogical approaches.
  • Experience or strong interest in working within an SEN setting or with nurture groups.
  • Ability to teach a specialist subject (e.g., PE, Maths) is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to suit the needs of diverse learners.
