Due to continued growth, this independent organisation is seeking Warehouse Operatives to join their team on a full time basis. The Warehouse Operatives will support the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring safe, efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of products. The role involves operating machinery, preparing customer orders, and maintaining accurate inventory records while adhering to strict health and safety standards.

Working Monday to Friday from 8am until 5pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Load and unload products and stock using forklifts and pallet trucks.
  • Pick, pack, and prepare customer orders for dispatch.
  • Operate warehouse machinery (e.g., forklift, cranes, wrapping machines) safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain accurate stock control and participate in regular stock checks.
  • Ensure correct labelling and documentation of materials.
  • Monitor product quality and report any defects or inconsistencies.
  • Follow company procedures for the storage and segregation of different metals.
  • Keep warehouse areas clean, safe, and organised in line with health & safety requirements.
  • Assist with goods-in inspections and quality control.
  • Report any safety hazards or operational issues to the Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Work collaboratively with other departments including logistics and production.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous warehouse or industrial experience preferred (manufacturing sector a bonus).
  • Valid Counterbalance Forklift Licence (desirable).
  • Good level of physical fitness - role involves manual handling and working in warm or heavy-duty environments.
  • Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.

Desirable:

  • Awareness of COSHH regulations and handling protocols.
  • Basic computer literacy for stock and order systems.
