Accounts Assistant

Reporting to the Management Accountant

Based in: Wilton

Position overview:

Provide financial support to the Management Accountant, compiling monthly management information to interpret and help improve company performance.

You will be expected to demonstrate the appropriate behaviours and commitment towards health and safety to ensure we maintain our first-class safety culture

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for bookkeeping in a variety of areas, including cost reporting, accruals & prepayments and fixed assets
  • Responsible for monthly P&L and Balance Sheet reviews and reconciliations, taking the lead in problem solving
  • Supporting the wider Finance team with internal and external audit queries
  • Processing revenue invoices, and raising invoices to Sembcorp customers
  • Monthly analysis of variable and fixed costs across the business, highlighting high or unusual spend to budget holders
  • Provide financial information to the business by preparing and delivering accurate and timely key monthly business reports
  • Help improve and develop departmental processes, procedures and internal controls
  • First point of contact for budget holders for queries on fixed and maintenance costs
  • Contribute towards training and development of Finance Apprentice

To be considered for the role you will have:

  • Qualified at AAT or degree level, and ideally studying towards a professional qualification.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills at all levels within organisation.
  • Good numerical and analytical skills.
  • Good IT skills including Excel, SAP (other accounting software will be taken into consideration).
  • Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Good personal management (must be able to demonstrate experience of this)
  • Confidence & ability to work with all levels of staff, including Senior Management, to chair meetings, present to an audience (must be able to demonstrate experience of this in some form)
