CNC Operator
Location: Redditch
Salary: £1314 per hour (depending on experience)
Hours: Monday to Friday, 2pm10pm (flexible core hours 12pm8pm). Early Friday finish at 2pm (make-up hours required).
Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled CNC Operator with experience operating sliding head lathes (Swiss-type) to join our precision manufacturing team. The role will involve operating, setting, and making minor adjustments on CNC machines, ensuring the production of high-quality components to tight tolerances.
Key Responsibilities for this CNC Operator role:
- Operate and set sliding head lathes (Swiss-type) including Hanwha, Star, Citizen, and Tornos machines.
- Work with Fanuc controls to perform machine setup, basic programming adjustments, and change offsets.
- Carry out minor setups and tooling changes as required.
- Monitor machine performance and make functional adjustments to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Operate additional CNC equipment such as Mazak machines when required.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and quality standards.
- Conduct basic machine maintenance and keep work area clean and safe.
Requirements for this CNC Operator role:
- Proven experience operating Swiss sliding head CNC lathes (Hanwha, Star, Citizen, or Tornos essential).
- Good knowledge of Fanuc control systems.
- Ability to carry out basic machine setups, tooling changes, and offset adjustments.
- Flexible approach to working hours (core hours must be met, Friday early finish with make-up hours).
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality components.
- Experience with Mazak machines desirable.
