Job Title: Press Setter
Work Location: Redditch, Worcestershire
Working hours: 39 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm & Friday 8am to 1pm
Pay: 15.00 per hour (Weekly Pay)
Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent (after a qualifying period for the successful candidate)

Main purpose of the role:

Setting and operation of a range of power presses and assembly jigs, fixtures and machinery for production of components, sub-assemblies, assemblies and machined parts using a variety of assembly techniques and equipment.

Principal duties and accountability:

* Setting jigs, fixtures and machinery such as power presses and air presses to enable the efficient assembly of all products
* Carry out setting duties according to priorities set by Section Leaders and Supervisors, to be accomplished by studying Standard Operating Procedures, drawings, specifications, and parts lists.
* Position parts and sub-assemblies by using templates, production jigs and fixtures or reading measurements in order to create first-off product for Quality approval, where appropriate.
* Carry out operations within the Assembly Areas, Machine Shop or Press Shop as per Production Schedule when setting duties are complete.
* Assemble components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and sub-assemblies.
* Ensure quality standards are met.
* Keep equipment clean and operational by following operating instructions and notifying Supervision immediately of any malfunctions or necessary repairs.
* Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules and regulations and complying with 5S principles - training can be given in this area.
* Notify Supervision of any components that are rejected to ensure corrective actions are carried out and stock is kept accurate.
* Conserve resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
* Document actions by completing production and quality forms.
* Any other reasonable request of the Production Department Supervision or Management.
* Willing to undergo suitable training to maintain or improve skills and abilities

Personal Attributes:

* Experience in a Production environment is desirable
* Diligent with an eye for detail and consistent Quality
* Able to use controls, instrumentation and measurement devices, where necessary
* Able to understand and follow instructions
* Identification of production issues as they arise
