We are recruiting on behalf of a successful and growing SME that is looking to appoint a hands-on Finance Manager / Senior Management Accountant. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded finance professional who enjoys working in a small business environment and wants to develop toward a future Finance Director role.

This is a broad, end-to-end finance position where the successful candidate will be involved in all areas of the accounts. You will work closely with the business owner and be supported by a part-time Finance Director, receiving both training and development as required.

Key Responsibilities:

. Preparation of monthly management accounts for a business with approximately ?3.5m turnover
. Producing departmental splits within management accounts
. Managing intercompany accounts and reconciliations
. Overseeing day-to-day finance operations including journals, reconciliations, and reporting
. Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow management
. Providing clear financial insight to support business decision-making
. Liaising with external accountants and advisors

Our client is open-minded on qualifications and is focused on attitude, capability, and potential. If you can confidently produce management accounts, they are happy to provide training and ongoing support.

Key Requirements:

. Experience preparing full management accounts
. Comfortable working in a small business / SME environment
. Strong understanding of intercompany accounting
. Proactive, organised, and commercially aware
. Able to work independently while collaborating closely with stakeholders

Qualifications:

. CIMA / ACCA / ACA not essential but preferred
. Study support available for candidates wishing to pursue professional qualifications
