Technical & Regulatory Assistant

Redditch

6 month fixed term contract

Our client is a leading FMCG company that develop and manufacture a range of innovative household laundry and cleaning products. They have an opening in their regulatory team for a 6 months period for Regulatory Assistant.

Role Purpose

Support the Technical and Regulatory Affairs team in ensuring that products and raw materials comply with relevant regulations and customer requirements. This role involves managing documentation, maintaining compliance databases, liaising with suppliers, and supporting product claims such as Vegan, Cruelty Free International, and REACH compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Manage and maintain Vegan and Cruelty Free International certification records for relevant products.

Support REACH compliance activities, including documentation review and data requests.

Manage the raw material approval process, ensuring all regulatory and compositional documentation is obtained, reviewed, and stored accurately.

Ensure raw material information is kept up to date and reviewed on a routine basis.

Maintain and update the approved chemical supplier database.

Liaise with raw material suppliers to obtain accurate and current information.

Manage the approval process for subcontracted products, ensuring compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.

Provide regulatory and compositional data required for online customer product specifications.

Input data into customer specification portals and ensure information is correct and consistently maintained.

Organise and maintain a structured online filing system for regulatory documents, supplier information, and product data.

Support internal teams with regulatory queries.

Candidate

Essential:

Understanding of chemistry or a related scientific subject.

Strong attention to detail with a methodical approach to data management.

Excellent organisation and record-keeping skills.

Competent in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:

Experience working in a Technical, Quality, or Regulatory role within FMCG, chemical, cosmetic, or manufacturing environment.

Familiarity with REACH, CLP, Detergents Regulation.

Understanding of certification processes (e.g., Vegan, Cruelty Free International).
