Edge Careers are currently working on behalf of our client that's looking to recruita 'Plant Controller/Hire Controller'. This opportunity is working on behalf of a well established Civils and Groundworks Contractor.

In this role you will be working closely with the Plant Team and reporting into the Plant Manager. You will mainly be responsible for arranging Plant, Tools and Machinery to the various construction sites within the West Midlands, East Midlands and South Midlands areas.

Working hours are 7:30am to 4:30pm (Monday to Friday)

I'm looking to speak with candidates that have experience and knowledge working within this are who've either worked for a Construction business or Hire Contractor.

Candidates must have:

  • Previous experience delivering a high-class customer service using product knowledge and expertise to fulfil programme demands.
  • Oversee regional workload, and have the ability to multi-task department needs, plan and prioritise and shift priorities quickly in a fast-moving environment.
  • Have a methodical approach, strong administration skills, and good attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate cost-effective techniques.
  • Be able to build long-term external relationships.
  • Have excellent communication across all business levels.
  • Have a hands-on approach to changing deadlines and the drive to work within a high-pressured environment.
  • Execute objectives with efficiency and effectiveness, measuring and monitoring the progress of outcomes.
  • Be resilient and have a professional attitude.
  • Be GDPR competent.
  • Be proficient with MS Office software (Word, Excel)

Your Key Responsibilities will be:

  • Coordinating and overseeing all aspects of plant requirements for the set region, working closely with Site Managers and Contracts Managers to ensure effective productivity.
  • Coordinating and preparing weekly gas oil and diesel for plant and machinery across regional sites.
  • Working with diesel suppliers to achieve favourable rates and ensuring the best possible service level is achieved to meet business requirements.
  • Coordinating, overseeing and preparing all miscellaneous items for regional sites including distribution of items across business (Magnus, Lapwing etc).
  • Coordinating and overseeing all site mixer requirements under hire desk; ensuring that business processes are followed, and necessary action is taken.
  • General administrative duties to support the Plant department.
