Machinist / Operative required to join a well-established company that specialises in the manufacturing of high-performance bimetallic components used in electrical, automotive, and industrial applications. The ideal candidate will come from some sort of machining background, either Manual or CNC and be willing to learn something completely new.
Machinist Job Overview
- Set up and operate manufacturing machines according to production specifications.
- Load and unload raw materials and finished products safely and efficiently.
- Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to maintain product quality and efficiency.
- Conduct routine inspections and quality checks on components to ensure they meet technical standards.
- Follow technical drawings, process sheets, and work instructions accurately.
- Identify and report machine faults or deviations in product quality.
- Maintain a clean and safe working environment in compliance with health and safety regulations.
Machinist Job Requirements
- Previous experience in a machine operative or manufacturing role, ideally within a metalworking or bimetal environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents and engineering drawings.
- Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
- Familiarity with quality control procedures and use of measuring equipment (e.g., micrometers, calipers).
- Strong commitment to health and safety standards.
- Willingness to work shifts or flexible hours, if required.
Machinist Salary & Benefits
- Full time - Permanent
- Monday to Friday - 08:00am to 4:30pm (3pm finish on Fridays)
- Salary - 13 - 14 (DOE)
