Our Client is an interior fit-out company that covers the UK and Europe with state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities based in the South of the UK. They deliver bespoke commercial spaces with precision and creativity, working on some very high-end projects.

The Role

The role will beDesign Managerto lead the Drawing Office team. This role would suit a senior designer with mentoring experience who wants to move to management or, likewise, a Design Coordinator looking for the next step.

As Design Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the performance of a team of technicians and ensuring projects move smoothly from concept through to construction, on time and to spec.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor and manage the drawing office team.

  • Plan and coordinate design resources across multiple live projects.

  • Ensure accurate and timely production of technical drawings and design documentation.

  • Manage and prioritise workloads based on project deadlines and business needs.

  • Collaborate with project managers, site teams, architects, and subcontractors to ensure design intent and compliance.

About You

  • Fit-out experience is key, with joinery, drylining, or partitions being advantageous

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Excellent knowledge of Autocad and Microsoft Suite

  • Strong understanding of construction detailing, materials, and building regulations.

  • Effective communicator and team player with a proactive approach.
