This is a fantastic part-time opportunity to join a leading international events company on a permanent basis. Based in Redhill, this role requires availability for 2-3 days per week and offers the chance to work with a dynamic team, ensuring financial efficiency across a diverse portfolio of clients. The role is offered at £30,000 FTE (pro rata based on working days) with a 10% annual bonus (pro rata).

Your Role: As a Credit Controller, you will play a pivotal role in maximising cash flow and minimising bad debts for a range of international clients within our finance department. This position suits a driven individual who excels in a high-pressure environment, thrives on proactive debt collection, and is passionate about maintaining strong financial operations in a global events setting.

Responsibilities:

  • Actively pursue payments through telephone calls, emails, and letters to ensure clients adhere to pre-event payment policies.
  • Maintain accurate records of customer communications in the finance system's Credit and Collections module for potential queries or legal actions.
  • Investigate and resolve account queries efficiently to minimise the risk of bad debts.
  • Respond promptly to internal and external queries, escalating where necessary to ensure timely resolution.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external clients, occasionally travelling to offices or international events to support debt collection and communication.
  • Work flexible international hours during event lead-up periods to maximise debt collection efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with company financial policies and contribute to the overall efficiency of the finance team.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in a finance department, ideally with exposure to international payments or the events industry.
  • Deep knowledge of finance systems, with experience in Salesforce and Financial Force software being highly desirable.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word for financial tracking and reporting.
  • Exceptional organisational and time-management skills, capable of prioritising tasks and meeting tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and multitasking abilities, with confidence in managing relationships with internal teams and external clients.
  • A proactive, customer-focused mindset with a strong work ethic and a desire to learn and embrace best practices.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to other offices or international events as required.
