Our client is seeking a dedicated Payroll Manager to join our leading accountancy practice in a standalone role, managing the end-to-end processing of multiple client payrolls.

**Please note this is a part time position which will be 80 hours per month, preference will be full time hours for the final two weeks and part time hours for first two weeks of the month**

Role Overview

This is a standalone position, responsible for processing a portfolio of client payrolls, building strong relationships, and ensuring excellent service levels. You'll work closely with clients and internal stakeholders, handling all aspects of payroll and statutory requirements, including SSP and SPPs.

Responsibilities

- Process client payrolls from start to finish in accordance with current legislation, policies, and timelines.

- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, delivering outstanding service and support.

- Manage high-volume payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance at every stage.

- Calculate and process statutory payments including SSP, SPPs, and other associated absence and termination payments.

- Input and update employee personal and statutory details (e.g. P45, P46, P6, P9, student loan notices, court orders).

- Maintain confidentiality and securely manage sensitive files and information.

- Respond promptly to payroll queries, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.

- Ensure payroll deadlines are met and quality standards maintained.

- Ensure timely payment of payrolls, pensions, PAYE/NI, and other deductions.

- Keep client files, policies, and procedures accurate and up to date.

- Support payroll-related projects and process improvements.

- Deliver excellent client service at every touchpoint.

Working Pattern

- 3 days per week in the office, 2 days working from home.

Experience & Skills Required

- Demonstrable experience of end-to-end payroll processing at high volumes.

- Previous experience working within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice (desirable).

- Strong communication skills and the ability to use initiative.

- Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building skills.

- Sound knowledge of payroll software and up-to-date payroll legislation.

Desirable Qualifications

- Payroll experience within a payroll bureau or accountancy practice.

- CIPP qualification (highly desirable).
