Technical Service Delivery Manager

As a Technical Service Delivery Manager will work closely with the Programme Director to support the successful implementation and ongoing management of defence and government project portfolios. The role ensures that all project activities meet both customer and organisational objectives, delivering high-quality technical and service outcomes across multiple contracts. This role is based in Redhill, Surrey

Key Responsibilities of Technical Service Delivery Manager

Provide service management oversight and ownership for key contract areas
Maintain a comprehensive view of all ongoing projects against contractual scopes, collaborating with other Project Managers as required through a matrix management approach.

Capture and maintain detailed programme overviews, including schedules, risk registers, implementation plans, and open job tracking.

Take full project management ownership of assigned projects across all contracts, ensuring:

Production and maintenance of high-quality documentation such as Project Management Plans, Risk Registers, and Project Schedules.

Seamless internal service launches with all relevant information shared across teams, ensuring documentation and support materials are complete and up to date.

Act as the primary support contact for projects within the assigned remit, facilitating technical and service issue resolution.

Assist in the rollout of Service Management and Group Planner functions.

Contribute to continuous improvement within through-life support processes.

Support other Project Managers in project delivery, ensuring smooth progression through all phases in accordance with agreed timescales.

Represent the organisation at customer, project, and commercial meetings as required.

Take on line management responsibilities as the Project Management function grows.

Support bid and proposal development for defence and government tenders.

Undertake additional project management duties as directed by the Programme Director.

Day-to-day work is primarily self-managed, driven by project and contractual requirements.

Responsible for making operational decisions affecting project priorities and objectives.

Exercises independent judgement within defined authority levels and escalates issues where necessary.

Takes ownership of issues, coordinating proactive responses to prevent escalation.

Requirements of Technical Service Delivery Manager

Able to work independently and demonstrates strong self-management skills.

Prioritises workload effectively based on business needs and customer requirements.

Demonstrated ability to work independently, showing initiative, tenacity, and strong problem-solving capability.

Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Proven experience in project management within defence or UK government programmes.

Technical understanding of electrical/electronic systems, IT networking, or satellite communications.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong customer focus with a proactive and adaptable approach.

Flexibility to travel as required.

Eligibility to obtain or hold DV (Developed Vetting) Security Clearance.

Degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.

Commercial awareness and understanding of MOD contracting processes (particularly Defence Digital and DE&S).

Proven ability to produce documentation and deliverables that meet or exceed customer expectations.

Must hold the Full right to work in the UK
