Workshop Fitter/Mechanic 
Full-time 16 - 18 per hour plus over time   A reputable construction firm have an exciting new opportunity for someone to join their team as a Workshop based Mechanic/Fitter. The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a variety of construction equipment, ensuring that the fleet remains in optimal working condition. This role involves working both independently and collaboratively with their team of professionals.


Duties & Responsibilities

  • Maintenance and fitting duties on a wide range of Plant items such as hydraulic excavators, dumpers, telehandlers and dozers.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to extend the lifespan of equipment.
  • Adhere to all health and safety requirements and guidelines and conduct safety inspections on equipment and report any hazards or concerns.
  • Carrying out any mechanical repairs and maintenance duties assigned or requested by the Plant Manager
  • Follow work practices and instructions as directed by the Plant Manager
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities.


Essential Criteria:

  • 3 years post qualification experience working as a Plant Fitter
  • Experience and competency of fault-finding, maintenance and repair of heavy-duty construction plant
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.
