Part Time Human Resources Assistant - Redruth - £26-28,500 FTE

Well Placed HR are delighted to have been exclusively reengaged by a past client and high performing business operating in the engineering sector. The company is experiencing significant growth in both production and head count and have subsequently tasked us to source an HR Assistant to join their people management function in a newly created role. The position is offered as a permanent contact operating over a 3-4 day working week (with flexibility). The role will be based at the company headquarters located on the outskirts of Redruth.

Working closely alongside a friendly and experienced HR Manager (also introduced by Well Placed HR), the successful candidate can expect a varied and interesting role, which would be perfectly suited to an aspiring HR professional seeking to broaden their experience and range of responsibilities. Key duties to include:

- Support the HR Manager in all aspects of the company’s people management function

- Ensure accurate a comprehensive employee record keeping

- Assist and coordinate recruitment and onboarding initiatives

- Act as a first point of contact for HR queries

- Draft a range of HR documentation

- Support the maintenance of internal HR systems

- Assist in collating payroll data

- Assist in developing employee engagement initiatives

- Support a range of ongoing people management focussed projects

- Ensure HRM practices are in line with company policy and current legislation

For this role, we seek a candidate with a minimum of 6-12 months of recently gained experience within a people management function. Candidates will ideally, though not essentially be qualified to CIPD level 3 and possess either manufacturing or civil engineering/construction exposure. Applicants should possess a basic knowledge of UK employment law, and be proficient in the use of digital databases and MS Office products. This will be a highly visible role that works within a growing team of employees operating in both an office and manual labour capacity so the successful candidate should possess excellent interpersonal and team working skills. Please note that due to the nature of the company’s business activity, there will be occasions where the HR Assistant will be required to use PPE as provided by this employer.
