About the Role

This fantastic role sits within the Management & Commercial Accounting section of our finance team. In this role, working with budget managers and other stakeholders, you will be responsible for monthly budget monitoring and reporting for assigned areas of the Council, as well as providing understanding and input to the Councils annual budget process and Medium Term Financial Plan.

As well as contributing to the effective performance for the team and identifying opportunities to develop the finance service, you will provide professional support to colleagues across the Council and coordinate service reviews and analysis of financial performance.

About the Person:

  • A part-qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA)
  • Good experience in management accounting, stakeholder relationship management and providing analysis to support key financial controls and reporting.
  • Previous Local Government experience is preferred, but not essential.
  • You will be able to work both independently and collaboratively, with great self-organisation skills and demonstrate excellent attention to detail.
  • You will work well as part of a team, with a flexible and a positive attitude, and the ability to prioritise to meet deadlines.
  • You will also have experience of developing working relationships and have strong verbal and written communication skills to share information about financial matters effectively.

While we are looking to appoint a part-qualified Accountant, we will accept applications from candidates who are yet to start studying, however the salary offered would reflect experience.
