Accounts Assistant
- Job Type: Temp to Perm (3 months temporary initially)
- Location: Office-based, full-time
- Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM - 5:30 PM, Friday: 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM (one hour for lunch)- 39.5 hours per week.
- Salary: £32,000- (£15.58 per hour PAYE or £19.80 via an umbrella company).
We are seeking an Accounts Assistant to join our team on a temp to perm basis. This role involves comprehensive management of both sales and purchase ledgers, handling cash book operations, and providing ad hoc support to the accountant. The ideal candidate will have a robust knowledge of day-to-day accounting processes and a proactive attitude.
Day-to-day of the role:
Sales Ledger:
- Input sales invoices.
- Reconcile sales accounts.
- Chase outstanding invoices.
- Send out weekly statements.
- Post incoming payments.
Purchase Ledger:
- Prepare invoices for input into Sage.
- Input purchase invoices.
- Reconcile purchase accounts.
- Input expenses and timesheets (staff and plumbers).
- Prepare payment runs.
- Post credit card statements.
Cash Book:
- Post cash book payments and receipts.
- Manage petty cash.
- Perform bank reconciliations.
General:
- Manage the accounts inboxes.
- Process accounts queries.
- Provide ad hoc support to the accountant.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Essential:
- Good working knowledge of day-to-day processing in an accounts team.
- Attention to detail.
- Process-driven.
- Good communication skills.
- Can-do attitude.
- Advantageous:
- Working knowledge of CIS.
- Working knowledge of Sage 50 Professional.
