Teqniq is searching for a Senior Engineer (Bridges & Structures - Project Management) to work in the public sector.

37 hours per week.

26 weeks contract.

Responsibilities:

To be the lead engineer within the Highway Structures section of Denbighshire County's Highways and Environmental Services in the delivery of the sections capital investment programme of projects, from concept through to delivery.

The range of projects must be delivered, safely, on time, to budget and with minimal interference with the openness of the highway network, whilst also complying with the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and the workplace's policies, strategic aims, objectives and priorities.

Principal Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

To be the designated project manager for the delivery of a wide selection of bridge projects from within the Highway Structures, capital investment plan.

To be the designated 'Client' in terms of CDM 2015 Regulations. For some less complex projects to also undertake other CDM roles, such as Designer and Principal Designer in addition.

To procure technical consultants and to supervise their delivery of technical specifications, and contract documents.

The duty holder is to ensure that all designs are subject to the DMRB CG300.

The duty holder is to ensure that appropriate contract terms are selected for each individual projects and that all necessary consents (both internal and external) are obtained and adhered to.

The duty holder is to ensure that contracts are procured in accordance with the workplace's latest procurement rules.

Communicate, consult and engage with elected members, City, Town and Community workplaces and other external organisations and the public to ensure that the service responds effectively to the needs and demands of the community.

To procure relevant contractors to undertake the works. Supervise the construction phase of the project, make engineering decisions on site, to administer the NEC 4 contracts, to settle the final accounts and to complete the CDM H&S File.

To deputise for and advise the Bridge Manager (Strategic Highways).

Undertake other duties and responsibilities as are suitable for the grade and capabilities of the post holder.
