Key Responsibilities
*Assist the Head Chef in day-to-day kitchen operations.
*Prepare a variety of high-quality meals for both individual guests and larger groups
*Basic pastry & bread making
*Adapt menus/dishes for dietary needs and allergens.
*Uphold the highest standards of hygiene and cleanliness across kitchen and food storage areas.
*Maintain compliance with food safety regulations and internal procedures.
Ideal Sous Chef/Second Chef Requirements
*Ideally 3-5 years of professional kitchen experience in a similar busy setting
*Pastry & bread making experience is essential
*Strong background in traditional cooking and baking from scratch for large groups/bulk cookery
*Catering qualifications preferred
*Confident using basic computer programs (e.g. for writing menus and allergen tracking).
*Flexible and calm under pressure, with a team-spirited and helpful approach.
*Candidates must have good communication skills and be able to work independently.
Hours:
*37.5 per week
*5/7 days per week - usually 1 weekend off per month on a rota basis
*7am-3pm and 11am - 7pm shifts
