MRK Associates is delighted to be working exclusively with a highly respected global organisation based in Rickmansworth, Hertfordshire, renowned for collaborating with some of the world's most exciting and recognisable brands. They are currently looking to recruit a Project Accountant to join their growing finance team on a permanent basis.

This is a full-time, office-based role (5 days per week in Watford), so please only apply if you are able to commit to being on-site.

This opportunity is ideally suited to someone with a strong background in project accounting, preferably gained within the construction or manufacturing sectors. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you will be responsible for the financial oversight and reporting of multiple high-value client projects, with budgets ranging from £100K to £7 million, both domestically and internationally.

It's a dynamic and varied role, perfect for someone who enjoys working across multiple projects and providing commercial insights to support senior stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will be ACCA or CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or a highly experienced QBE, with a solid track record in a Project Accountant or similar role. You should be confident managing several concurrent projects, handling complex timelines, and using Excel to a high standard. Experience in multi-currency environments is highly advantageous. While team management is not essential, experience supervising or mentoring others would be a plus, as you'll be overseeing a small transactional team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare full monthly management accounts for active projects.
  • Monitor and report on project expenditure, providing accurate cost forecasts.
  • Manage and report across multiple currencies (GBP, EUR, USD).
  • Lead on budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for all live projects.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and manage depreciation and disposals.
  • Ensure accurate VAT returns and compliance with VAT regulations.
  • Prepare monthly journals, including accruals, prepayments, and cost allocations.
  • Manage the month-end close process, cash flow projections, and bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee payroll and day-to-day transactional finance operations.
  • Act as a financial business partner to project teams and operational stakeholders.
