As part of a continued service to a key client, we are looking to strengthen our Engineering team with a Principal Process Engineer. Based in a designated region, you will report directly to the Regional Discipline Lead (Process), which will catalyse your development.
Our challenging programme of work, across a variety of water and wastewater schemes, is expected to be in the region of £400M.

Responsibilities:
Produce high-quality standard process design documents and drawings, such as process calculations, P&IDs, PFD, Control Philosophy, ensuring compliance with health & safety requirements, specifications, and standards.
Ensure regulations and client standards are met on each project.
Conduct and co-ordinate studies related to Process Safety, a critical aspect of our design and a key client requirement.
Collaborate with other disciplines (civil, mechanical, EICA, environmental) to produce a complete design for various projects.
Assist other disciplines in their design production and technical specifications with any process and Process Safety input, developing trust and synergy within the team.
Provide active support to the delivery, commissioning, and management teams on technical issues, offering effective solutions.
Provide feedback to the Regional Discipline Lead and the Design Manager of each project.
Ensure effective design solutions considering the overall cost, including design time, material costs, erection costs, and any impact on other disciplines.
Assist the design manager at different design stages with deliverables.
Mentor graduates by providing support and guidance during their development scheme.
Maintain files and records throughout the duration of contracts.
Assist the management team in fostering a culture where customer satisfaction is recognized as key to achieving other objectives, with customers including both end users and internal departments.
Ensure designs fully consider all health and safety requirements.
Essential Skills and Experience:
Knowledge of clean water, wastewater, re-use, and/or sludge treatment process design; experience from other industries is highly valued.
Proven track record in developing process calculations such as mass balance, energy balance, and hydraulic calculations.
Ability to think clearly under pressure.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and milestones on projects.
Excellent communication skills within the project team and with external stakeholders.
Ability to rationalize designs and produce cost-effective process solutions.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
