About Liquid RS

Liquid RS is one of the UK’s leading specialist recruitment partners to the social housing sector.

For over 17 years, we’ve supported Housing Associations and Local Authorities across Asset Management and Building Safety, Housing Management, Leasehold and Homeownership, and Corporate Services.

We’re a small, focused team that believes in doing things properly — with clear communication, accountability, and genuine care for the people we work with. Our consultants focus on people and relationships, while our operations and business support teams make sure everything behind the scenes runs like clockwork.

About the Role

We’re looking for a detail-driven and proactive Compliance Lead to take ownership of candidate compliance, audit readiness, and onboarding across all temporary and contract placements.

You’ll work closely with the Directors and Consultants to make sure every placement is fully compliant, every record is complete, and everything sits neatly in Bullhorn — no guesswork, no spreadsheets.

While the role also includes light payroll coordination (working with our external provider, Zodeq), the real focus is on maintaining impeccable compliance standards and supporting the smooth running of our operation.

This suits someone who enjoys structure, accuracy, and being the steady hand that keeps everything in order.

Key Responsibilities as a Compliance Lead:

  • Lead on compliance for all placements — RTW checks, DBS verification, references, and onboarding documentation
  • Maintain clear, well-organised digital records in Bullhorn, ensuring every compliance document and placement detail is logged accurately
  • Prepare for and manage external client audits, liaising with VMS companies and housing clients to ensure documentation is complete and up to date
  • Communicate with consultants on compliance progress, rate confirmations, and start dates, ensuring nothing falls between the cracks
  • Manage weekly payroll preparation via Zodeq, producing clear breakdowns (pay, margin, VAT, and ERNI) for the Directors
  • Track and manage company laptops and phones issued internally and externally
  • Coordinate staff holidays and maintain oversight to ensure smooth cover across the business
  • Contribute to improving systems, templates, and processes — making everything more efficient, transparent, and future-proof

Skills and Experience in a Compliance Lead:

  • Proven experience in compliance and onboarding, ideally within the recruitment industry
  • Experience using recruitment software, ATS, or CRM systems — Bullhorn experience is a real advantage
  • Exceptional attention to detail, accuracy, and process discipline
  • Confident communicator who explains requirements clearly and keeps people on track
  • Understanding of RTW checks, GDPR, and recruitment compliance standards
  • Good grasp of payroll basics (VAT, margins, ERNI) — but happy to leave the heavy lifting to the system
  • Strong Excel and data management skills
  • Team-oriented with a calm, collaborative, and solutions-focused approach

What We Offer you as a Compliance Lead:

  • Flexible hybrid working with genuine autonomy and trust
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays and your birthday off
  • Pension enrolment after probation
  • Regular socials and professional development opportunities
  • Laptop and work phone provided
