About the Company:
Established in 1977, our client is a leading specialist in precision grinding, providing CNC turning, milling, and grinding services. With EN9100 (AS9100) aerospace accreditation, they serve a diverse range of sectors, including aerospace, defence, oil & gas, motorsport (including Formula 1), food/scientific, and medical industries. As part of their expansion, they are looking for an experienced Quality Inspector / Lead Quality Inspector to join their growing team.
Role Overview:
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and hands-on Quality Inspector / Lead Quality Inspector to play a vital role in a fast-paced environment. You will lead a small team, ensuring that the inspection department runs efficiently to meet production deadlines and customer delivery dates.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership: Lead and motivate a small team in the Inspection Department to ensure smooth and efficient operations.
- Inspection: Perform dimensional and visual inspections for First off, Patrol, and Final inspections of components.
- Non-Conformance: Report any non-conformances in line with the company's NCR process.
- Reporting: Prepare First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR) and other inspection reports as required.
- Problem-Solving: Assist with root cause analysis and problem-solving activities on the shop floor.
- Additional Duties: Carry out any other related activities as required.
Candidate Requirements:
- Experience: Previous experience in a subcontract CNC manufacturing environment is essential.
- Leadership Skills: Ability to organise and motivate a team, using initiative to achieve results.
- Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering drawings, including geometric tolerances.
- CMM Experience: Proficient in operating CMM, with programming experience an advantage.
- Measuring Equipment: Familiarity with various measuring equipment such as external & bore micrometers, height gauges, Verniers, etc.
- Attention to Detail: A process-driven approach with high attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team Player: Proactive and motivated towards continuous improvement.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Aerospace Standards: Ability to understand and work to EN9100 (AS9100) Rev D requirements.

- A competitive salary up to £42,000 per annum, depending on experience.
