Warehouse Manager up to £50k

Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Warehouse Manager is responsible for the efficient management and control of the warehouse and logistics functions, delivery of our customer service standards and development of our continuous improvement platform. This role requires the ability to measure and develop the daily performance of the warehouse and transport departments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage the day-to-day warehouse and transport functions through a team of Warehouse Supervisors
  • Manage inventory accuracy through perpetual inventory counts and introduce necessary processes to improve and maintain accuracy
  • Regularly evaluate warehouse capacity against future inbound and outbound activity and plan space requirements
  • Plan necessary resource against forecasted activity levels
  • Manage recruitment of warehouse and logistics staff
  • Ensure cost control is maintained in-line with budgets and targets
  • Introduce, develop and review operational processes to improve efficiency and delivery of service
  • Use KPIs to measure, drive and improve operational performance on a weekly basis
  • Support the development of the operational team through training, coaching and review
  • Ensure workforce is cross trained to support cost
  • Identify training requirements and introduce training plans where required
  • Motivate and inspire the team to optimise performance and deliver outstanding results
  • Report warehouse and logistics performance weekly to Operations Manager
  • Manage third party transport and carriers performance
  • Ensure full compliance of health and safety legislation
  • Responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance of the site
  • Complete investigation meetings and disciplinary hearings as required
  • Communicate with key stakeholders daily
  • Collate payroll information
  • Key holder

Key skills and experience:

  • 3 years experience managing a warehouse team in a distribution environment
  • Experience of building high performing teams
  • Knowledge of health and safety practices and legislation
  • Knowledge of transport practices and legislation
  • Results driven and commercially aware
  • Ability to present and communicate at senior level
  • Driving License
