Job Description: Junior AccountantLocation: Ripon Type: Full time, office based Salary: Up to £25,000, plus study support

We are seeking a motivated Junior Accountant to join a dynamic Accountancy Practice on a full-time basis. This office-based role is ideal for candidates looking to develop their career in accountancy, providing opportunities for growth and professional development.

Key Responsibilities:• Prepare accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and small limited companies.• Assist in the preparation of personal, partnership, and corporation tax returns.• Undertake bookkeeping tasks and prepare VAT returns.• Support senior members of the accounts team on more complex assignments.• Receive study support and guidance towards career progression.

Candidate Requirements:• 1 - 2 years of experience in an accountancy practice.• Ideally studying for the AAT qualification or equivalent.• Experience in preparing accounts for both incorporated and unincorporated businesses.• Basic understanding of tax principles; additional tax experience is advantageous.• Proficiency in software such as SAGE, Xero, QuickBooks, and ideally IRIS.• Strong skills in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.• Conscientious, well-organized, and excellent communication skills.• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
