Our client is an established and well-respected manufacturing company. Currently recruiting a Trainee Design Engineer, to drive innovation and improvements through the development of new and existing engineering products. This is a full-time, permanent position, based on site at our client’s North Yorkshire office.
Trainee Design Engineer - Key Responsibilities
- Asa Trainee ResearchandDevelopmentengineeryouwill trained to translatetechnicalspecificationsintotechnical designs and products.
- Youwillapplyprinciplesofmechanics,design,materialscience,andotherengineeringdisciplinesto developnew products, improve existingproducts, andsolveengineeringproblems. Youwill beable to create innovative and robust mechanical solutions, design components for manufacture, design test regimes to validate the product, document design decisions, etc.
- Thisroleinvolvesconductingresearch, analysing data, designingandtestingprototypes,andcollaboratingwith cross-functional teams to bring innovative solutions.
- Duringthedevelopmentcycle,youwilldocumenttoahighlevelthedesigndecisionstakenandany data.
- Producing detailed and accurate documentation to clearly outline product design and development steps, technical test and data sheets, R&D documentation, and user manuals of a technical and non-technical nature.
Trainee Design Engineer - Candidate
- CAD skills and experience, ideally SolidWorks, with an interest in designing mechanical or electrical solutions.
- Be an effective communicator who is comfortable liaising with internal and external customers to better understand their 'pain points’ and identify best fit solution.
- With strong Microsoft skills, able to create detailed and presentable customer-facing technical documentation.
The Trainee Design Engineer position is offering £26,000 - £30,000 basic salary plus great benefits. This is a full-time, permanent position, working Monday - Friday 8.30am - 5pm based at our client’s North Yorkshire office.
