Are you a caring and dependable Support Assistant looking for a meaningful role in a school environment? We're currently recruiting for a dedicated Support Assistant to join a specialist school near Robertsbridge, where you'll play a key part in supporting children and young people with a range of special educational needs.
Position Overview:
- Job Title: Support Assistant (Education Setting)
- Location: Robertsbridge, East Sussex
- Start Date: ASAP or after October half term
- Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, during school hours
Key Responsibilities of a Support Assistant:
As a Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide tailored support to students with a range of needs, including personal care and mobility assistance
- Collaborate with teaching staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Deliver 1:1 or small group support throughout the school day
- Encourage the development of communication, independence, and emotional wellbeing
- Help pupils manage sensory or physical needs as part of their daily routine
Ideal Candidate Profile:
To be successful in the Support Assistant role, you will need:
- Experience working in care, education, or a support role (preferred but not essential)
- A patient, respectful, and nurturing attitude
- A genuine interest in supporting young people with additional needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
