A well-regarded organisation in Rochdale is looking for a Management Accountant to join its finance team. This is a well-rounded role which will give you the opportunity to lean, develop and progress up to Financial Controller in the coming years. An excellent opportunity for someone with strong analytic skills and a proactive mindset to play a key role in financial planning, performance monitoring, and business partnering across the business.

You'll be responsible for producing accurate management accounts, improving costing systems, managing budgets and forecasts, and translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights. This role also involves supporting senior stakeholders and contributing to strategic decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and cost control processes
  • Refine and maintain product costing systems
  • Conduct variance analysis and support strategic decision-making
  • Partner with non-financial teams to provide insight and guidance
  • Perform bank reconciliations and support payroll as required
  • Contribute to finance-led projects and process improvement initiatives

You'll bring solid experience in management accounting, with a keen eye for detail, strong analytic skills, and the confidence to advise senior stakeholders. Comfortable working in fast-paced environments-ideally in retail or logistics-and skilled in tools like SAP and Excel. You'll also be a great communicator, able to translate financial data into clear messages for non-financial audiences, while constantly seeking opportunities to improve processes and add value

What You'll Bring

  • Previous experience in a similar finance role, ideally within a manufacturing or commercial environment
  • Strong SAP and Excel skills
  • CIMA, ACCA, or ACA qualified (or QBE with relevant experience)
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements
  • Understanding of lean principles is a plus (Yellow Belt certification desirable but not essential)
