Join the Rochdale Borough Council Information Governance Team, a key unit responsible for managing various information requests including freedom of information and GDPR requests. We are seeking an Information Governance Assistant to provide administrative support and manage our incoming requests efficiently.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Monitor the Information Governance and Freedom of Information Mailboxes.
  • Log new information requests in the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Manage and maintain the CRM system to ensure processes are followed and progress on requests is tracked and documented.
  • Provide responses to customers once requests have been resolved.
  • Direct customers to information already available in the public domain, potentially resolving requests at the first point of contact.
  • Produce a range of statistical reports to support team activities and decision-making.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Strong administrative and organisational skills.
  • Ability to manage and prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of dealing with various stakeholders including the public, businesses, and internal teams.
  • Proficiency in using CRM systems and other office management tools.
  • Prior experience in Information Governance and Data Protection is beneficial but not essential as comprehensive on-the-job training will be provided.
  • Commitment to complete an initial training period in-office for 5 days a week, followed by a hybrid working arrangement.
