Location: Rochdale
Hours: Full time preferred (Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 3:00pm)
Part-time applications will also be considered
Contract: Temporary contract with potential to become permanent
Salary: Negotiable 170 -190 per day, dependent on experience

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to join our secondary school in Rochdale on a contract basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate professional who is committed to improving outcomes for students with additional needs and leading high-quality SEND provision across the school.



The Role

As SENCO, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the school's SEND strategy, working closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, parents, and external agencies to ensure all pupils receive the support they need to thrive.



Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage SEND provision across the school

  • Identify, assess and support students with SEND in line with the SEND Code of Practice

  • Develop and review EHCPs, IEPs and support plans

  • Liaise with parents, carers and external professionals

  • Support and advise staff on inclusive practice and differentiation

  • Monitor progress and ensure compliance with statutory requirements



The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience working as a SENCO within a secondary school

  • Strong knowledge of SEND legislation and best practice

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

  • Passionate about inclusion and student wellbeing

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a wider school team

This role is full time in the first instance, though part-time working will be considered for the right candidate. Salary is negotiable and will be discussed directly with the school based on experience.
