Pastoral Support– September start

Cover People are working in partnership with a warm and welcoming secondary school in Rochdale to find a full time, long term Pastoral Support to start immediately.

The school is likely to offer a permanent role for the successful candidate.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students
  • Provide tailor-made 1:1 and small group support intervention
  • Liase with parents/carers about potentially sensitive topics including safeguard concerns
  • Monitor student behaviour, attendance and punctuality
  • Report directly to the Assistant Headteacher, Deputy Headteacher and SENDCo
  • Liaise with external agencies – possibly including social workers & CAMHS

Requirements:

  • An Enhanced DBS on the update service OR the willingness to comply
  • Strong organisational and IT skills (SIMS/Arbor and CPOMS)
  • Experience working with young people in a pastoral, educational or youth work setting
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to build positive relationships with young people, helping to effectively safeguard

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. The above vacancy is a temporary position. Occasionally, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date. We offer flexibility with this, as we understand some candidates may not wish to commit to a permanent contract.
