Are you a skilled Project Engineer with a background in engineering and capital equipment?

Do you enjoy taking full ownership of projects and seeing them through from initial planning to final handover?

Our client – a respected machinery manufacturer based in Greater Manchester – is seeking a motivated and experienced Project Engineer to lead the delivery of mid-to-large scale machinery installations across the UK.

The Role:

You’ll be responsible for managing engineering projects from design/build approval through to on-site installation, commissioning, and final handover. The role involves working closely with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors to ensure smooth and successful delivery.

Key responsibilities for the Project Engineer will include:

  • Managing projects from start to finish – planning, execution, delivery
  • Leading on-site project meetings with customers and subcontractors
  • Ensuring machinery design and build meets customer specifications
  • Managing subcontractors and site-based installation activities
  • Overseeing site Health & Safety and compliance with CDM regulations
  • Managing project time scales and reporting on progress
  • Keeping accurate site records, snagging lists, commissioning docs, and handover reports
  • Overseeing all works from machinery delivery through to commissioning and customer handover

What You’ll Need:

  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer in capital equipment, machinery, or industrial automation
  • Strong understanding of machinery design, build, and installation processes
  • Confident managing subcontractors and leading on-site teams
  • Good working knowledge of site safety best practices
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills
  • Willingness to travel UK-wide with overnight stays as required
