The Role of Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Engineer to join our growing team. You’ll deliver high-quality, courteous, and efficient service to clients across the Northwest and Yorkshire, supported by a dedicated office team based in Milnrow, Rochdale.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out reactive call outs, planned maintenance, and remedial works on small to medium AC and refrigeration systems.
  • Service and repair refrigeration units including cold rooms, blast chillers, freezer rooms, and packaged fridges/freezers.
  • Work independently or as part of a team, depending on the site requirements.
  • Maintain van stock and ensure all necessary materials and tools are available.
  • Complete digital job reports via our field service management software.
  • Communicate with customers professionally and courteously at all times.
  • Participate in the out-of-hours call-out rota (enhanced pay applies).

What We’re Looking For

  • Full, clean UK driving licence.
  • Valid F-Gas certification (City & Guilds or NVQ Level).
  • Proven experience with refrigeration systems and confident with small Air Conditioning systems.
  • Excellent personal presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong self-management and time-keeping abilities.
  • Comfortable using smartphone-based work systems.
  • Able to pass an enhanced DBS check (no convictions).
  • City & Guilds 6187-21 (Hydrocarbons) or equivalent – essential.
  • CSCS card – desirable, but not essential.
