About The Role:

A local Authority Committed to providing support to individuals experiencing homelessness and those in supported accommodation. Promoting independence through tailored support services is our number one priority. We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Housing Support Worker to join our team in Manchester. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in working with homelessness and supported accommodation, and will be passionate about making a positive impact in the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to individuals experiencing homelessness and those in supported accommodation.
  • Develop and implement personalised support plans to address clients' needs and goals.
  • Assist clients in accessing housing, healthcare, and other essential services.
  • Advocate for clients' rights and work to remove barriers to their success.
  • Collaborate with local agencies and service providers to coordinate comprehensive support.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of client interactions and progress.
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in homelessness and supported accommodation services.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by individuals experiencing homelessness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental approach.
  • Relevant qualifications in social work, housing, or a related field (preferred).
