Our client, a leading player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking an experienced Senior/Principal Hardware Engineer to join their team in Rochester. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute significantly to the defence and security domain on a 12-month contract, with full-time on-site work required.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing, developing, and testing hardware solutions for defence and security applications.
  • Working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure hardware meets stringent security standards.
  • Conducting performance analysis and optimisation of existing hardware.
  • Preparing detailed technical documentation and reports.
  • Ensuring compliance with industry regulations and internal quality standards.
  • Providing technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define hardware requirements and specifications.
  • Managing project timelines, deliverables, and resource allocation effectively.


Job Requirements:

  • Experience as a Hardware Engineer within the defence and security industry.
  • Proficiency in hardware design and development tools and methodologies.
  • Strong understanding of electronic circuits, systems, and components.
  • Experience with performance analysis, troubleshooting, and optimisation.
  • Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills.
  • Ability to work under strict security protocols and handle sensitive information.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities.
