Mechanical Design Engineer

Up to £43,000 per annum DOE.
Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00.

About the Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality 2D and 3D designs using software such as SolidWorks. From concept through to installation, you’ll manage the full design process including technical documentation, materials sourcing, and cross-team collaboration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create 2D and 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
- Produce BOMs, cut lists, and installation documentation.
- Prepare machine manuals and technical file documents.
- Support production by managing materials and component stock.
- Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Project planning and tracking, issuing work to design and production teams.
- Identify process improvements and support sales quotations.
- Attend and contribute to production and design review meetings.
- Work closely with the electrical team and directly with customers.
What we are looking for:
- Experienced in an engineering environment.
- Skilled in SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
- Strong knowledge of material selection.
- Organised, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and people skills.
- Holds a full UK driving licence (required due to rural location).
