Mechanical Design Engineer
Rochester
Up to £43,000 per annum DOE.

Monday to Friday 08:00 – 17:00.

Join a vibrant and cutting-edge team, where our client designs and manufactures bespoke industrial equipment for fast paced environments. We’re looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to contribute to high speed and innovative projects in a hands-on, collaborative environment.

About the Role:
As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality 2D and 3D designs using software such as SolidWorks. From concept through to installation, you’ll manage the full design process including technical documentation, materials sourcing, and cross-team collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create 2D and 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
  • Produce BOMs, cut lists, and installation documentation.
  • Prepare machine manuals and technical file documents.
  • Support production by managing materials and component stock.
  • Liaise with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Project planning and tracking, issuing work to design and production teams.
  • Identify process improvements and support sales quotations.
  • Attend and contribute to production and design review meetings.
  • Work closely with the electrical team and directly with customers.


What we are looking for:

  • Experienced in an engineering environment.
  • Skilled in SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong knowledge of material selection.
  • Organised, self-motivated and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and people skills.
  • Holds a full UK driving licence (required due to rural location).
