Mechanical Engineer - CCGT Power Station

Alecto Recruitment is partnering with a market leader in the CCGT Power Station sector, actively seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their Group Engineering team at their Combined Cycle Gas Turbine facility in Kent, with occasional travel to other sites.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Mechanical Engineer Lead and assist with maintenance activities to ensure reliable, continuous plant operation.
  • Assisting in Project-based work (long-term planning and smaller multi-million-pound projects) with the potential of taking on projects of your own.
  • Help maintain asset compliance with regulatory, industry, and company standards.
  • Contribute to safe, efficient, and profitable generation aligned with company goals.
  • Participate in maintenance projects and plant upgrades focused on reliability and performance improvement.
  • Provide technical advice and support to site on maintenance best practices.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience with large rotating equipment and/or HRSG pressure systems (power generation preferred).
  • Experience: Refineries, Papermills and other industries working with heavy rotating equipment will be considered. Outages, shutdowns, and power station operations is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of health & safety, environmental, and engineering standards and legislation.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, contract management, and maintenance work planning.
  • Minimum HNC qualification in engineering; degree desirable.
  • Proficient in MS Office, Maximo, and Cintellate; familiar with Generation Safety Rules.
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and able to work independently or as part of a small team.
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and multitasking skills.
  • Committed to continuous learning, safety, and high professional standards.
  • Valid driving licence and willingness to work across multiple sites.
