What You'll Do:
As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Mechanical Department. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting general servicing for both passenger and commercial vehicles.
- Handling tyre changing duties for a variety of vehicles.
- Performing air conditioning services as needed.
- utilising a range of tools and diagnostic equipment to carry out vehicle diagnostics, methodical fault tracing, and electrical testing.
- Executing Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI) as required.
- Conducting thorough vehicle inspections and road tests.
- Carrying out repairs in line with approved methods to restore vehicles to their original condition.
- Managing warranty repairs according to manufacturer standards.
- Accurately documenting all work performed and ensuring compliance with company procedures.
- Preparing vehicles for final quality control, including stripping/refitting, panel repair, masking, priming, painting, and oven rectification.
- Planning and organising your time effectively to meet set deadlines and achieve efficiency.
- Assisting fellow technicians and contributing to the training of new team members.
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- An NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent experience.
- A proactive and positive attitude, contributing fully to company initiatives and supporting its aims and ambitions.
- A professional demeanour, with punctuality and courtesy at the forefront of your work ethic.
- The ability to react calmly and effectively in unexpected situations and encourage beneficial changes.
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
