Are you a confident and experienced HLTA looking for a rewarding long-term role where you can make a real difference?

Supply Desk are currently recruiting on behalf of a welcoming and well-resourced two-form entry primary school in Rochester, Kent, seeking a skilled HLTA to join their team as soon as possible. This is a flexible role, open to both full-time and part-time candidates, with a contract running until the end of the academic year (July 2026).

About the Role:

As an HLTA in this setting, you’ll be trusted to step into classes to cover PPA time and teacher absences across EYFS, KS1, and KS2. You’ll play a vital role in maintaining continuity in learning, engaging pupils in pre-planned lessons, and ensuring strong classroom routines are upheld. You will also provide support for pupils with SEND and contribute to intervention work as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • PPA and Absence Cover: Lead classes across the primary phases using prepared lesson plans.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a calm, inclusive, and well-structured learning environment.
  • SEND Support: Work closely with small groups of children with additional needs.
  • Intervention Support: Deliver targeted interventions to boost pupil progress.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with teachers and support staff to ensure consistent standards.
  • Flexible Approach: Adapt your teaching across different year groups based on school needs.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experienced HLTA: HLTA status or demonstrable experience leading full class teaching across EYFS–KS2.
  • Adaptable & Proactive: Ready to step into different year groups and engage with a variety of learners.
  • SEND Experience: A strong understanding of how to support children with additional needs.
  • Effective Behaviour Management: Calm and confident classroom presence.
  • Clear DBS & References: An enhanced DBS on the update service and two references.
