Your new school

Ripplevale School and College, is a thriving independent special school, for 170 students aged 6 to 25 years old, located in the historic town of Rochester. As part of the Ripplevale family of schools, we provide a holistic, child centred approach to meeting the needs of our students, most of whom have an Education and Health Care Plan. Identified needs may include Autism Spectrum Disorder, dyslexia, speech, language and communication difficulties, DCD, sensory, and high levels of anxiety.

Your new role

Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of learners with special educational needs? Ripplevale School and College is seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech, Language and Communication Therapist to join our dynamic multidisciplinary team.

As a key member of our therapeutic team, you will:

  • Deliver a specialist, integrated speech, language and communication service to learners with SEN.
  • Provide targeted SLCT interventions as outlined in the Intervention Schedule.
  • Monitor and report on learner progress through the Annual Review and Transitional Review processes.
  • Supervise and guide the Assistant Speech, Language and Communication Therapist.
  • Train and support Teaching Assistants to embed SLCT strategies within the classroom.
  • Collaborate closely with educational teams to enhance learner outcomes.
  • Contribute to half-termly therapy meetings, ensuring a holistic, joined-up approach to meeting the needs outlined in SEN Statements and EHC Plans.

What we're looking for

  • A qualified and HCPC-registered Speech and Language Therapist.
