We’re partnering with a well-established charity supporting housing and community services to find two confident and proactive Year-End Accountants, both on six month fixed term contracts. This is a key role with high visibility, helping to deliver high-quality financial reporting and support a major finance transformation project. It’s ideally suited to someone who has recently qualified in practice or comes with strong housing or third-sector experience.

About the Role

You’ll be taking ownership of financial reporting responsibilities, ensuring reconciliations, lead schedules, and audit deliverables are completed to a high standard. The work is hands-on, detailed, and essential to helping the wider organisation meet audit and statutory obligations.

Key responsibilities:

  • Prepare and reconcile lead schedules to the trial balance

  • Own and update statutory reporting documents in collaboration with internal teams

  • Support the audit process, responding to queries and ensuring accurate financial submissions

  • Assist with journal posting, AP/AR processes and financial data integrity

  • Contribute to core finance projects, particularly around process improvement and system upgrades

  • Build strong relationships with non-financial stakeholders across housing and service teams

What You’ll Bring
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) – essential

  • Strong experience in audit prep, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting

  • Comfortable working in a busy, hands-on finance team under tight deadlines

  • Excellent Excel skills (VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, MATCH) and confidence working with financial systems

  • A collaborative and resilient personality – ready to step into a team that’s under pressure and help drive change

  • Exposure to housing, charity, or education sectors is desirable but not essential

  • Process improvement mindset – eager to question inefficiencies and suggest better ways of working
