As our Teacher of Sociology, joining us in September 2025, with a significant leadership role in A-Level Sociology, you will:
- Lead and Inspire: Take a lead role in the delivery and development of the Sociology curriculum at both GCSE and A-Level, inspiring high-achieving students, particularly at Key Stage 5, to reach their full academic potential and fostering a school-wide appreciation for sociological inquiry.
- Shape Curriculum Innovation: Have the opportunity to contribute to the ongoing development and enhancement of our Sociology curriculum, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies, the use of contemporary social research, and exploring social issues relevant to the experiences within the Havering community, with a focus on the demands of A-Level.
- Mentor and Guide: Act as a role model and mentor for students with a passion for Sociology, fostering their aspirations for further study and careers in social sciences and related fields, particularly guiding our A-Level students towards university success.
- Collaborate with a Dedicated Social Sciences Team: Work alongside a team of experienced and passionate educators, sharing best practices and contributing to the overall success of the department, with a key focus on the delivery of an outstanding A-Level Sociology program.

We are seeking a highly experienced and qualified Sociology teacher with a proven track record of outstanding results at both GCSE and A-Level. Experience in leading curriculum development, developing resources, and working with diverse student populations is highly desirable, with a strong understanding of the A-Level Sociology specification being essential. You will possess a deep understanding of sociological theory and research methods, excellent pedagogical skills, and the ability to motivate and challenge students of all abilities, with a particular focus on the demands of Key Stage 5.
