SEN Teaching Assistant – Vision for Education
Location: Romford, London Borough of Havering
Position: Full-time, Term-time only (Monday to Friday)
Contract Type: Temporary with opportunity to go Permanent
About the Role:
Vision for Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Romford. The successful candidate will support students with Special Educational Needs (SEN), including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. You will work closely with class teachers and SENCOs to provide tailored support, ensuring that all students have equal access to the curriculum and are encouraged to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with SEN.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and Behaviour Support Plans.
- Support students in developing social, emotional, and communication skills.
- Adapt classroom activities to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Monitor and record student progress, providing feedback to the class teacher.
- Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Ideal Candidate:
We are looking for individuals who:
- Have experience working with children with SEN, preferably in a school setting.
- Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of SEN and inclusive education practices.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Are patient, adaptable, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Hold a valid Enhanced DBS check or are willing to obtain one.
