We are looking for an experienced SEND Learning Support Assistant to work alongside a supportive staff team in a Havering Primary School. You must be willing to work with a range of children with additional needs, ranging from ADHD, ASD, SEMH and communication difficulties. The successful SEND Learning Support Assistant will have bags of creativity for stimulating and engaging children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support SEN children on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Understanding of ASD and SCD
  • Managing intimate care needs and supporting children in toilet training
  • Have good literacy and numeracy skills.
  • Encourage social, emotional, and cognitive development.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Level 3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with SEMH/ SEN pupils
  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of behaviour management
  • Desirable: Experience working with children with SEN in a school/ provision.
