Key Responsibilities

  • Support DFMA / NPD / NPI activities for Production, Support and Supply Chain.
  • Support Bid processes and Make versus Buy manufacturing strategies.
  • Lead completion of PFMEA, and Risk identification and mitigation for product designs and manufacturing processes.
  • Identify and escalate risks, issues and opportunities to improve processes and deliveries, liaising with project teams, leaders and sponsors as required.
  • Identify appropriate manufacturing, assembly and testing processes for new products
  • Lead teams to successful problem resolution using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement across Defence. Identify opportunities to improve the CI culture/framework, working closely with business stakeholders.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

  • Demonstratable knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement tools and techniques.
  • Demonstratable experience in leading change management teams and projects.
  • Detailed understanding of electronic and mechanical assembly and testing principles.
  • Previous work experience within electro-mechanical assembly.
  • Previous experience of working with automated and manual measurement techniques across a range of Test Equipment.
  • Experience in troubleshooting product non-conformances
  • Problem Solving techniques (PSP, 8D, RCA, DMAIC)
  • Experienced with MRP tools (IFS would be advantageous).
