Are you an Assistant/Junior Estimator with a passion for delivering accurate cost assessments? We are seeking an Assistant Estimator to join a growing team in Ross on Wye.

About the Role:

As an Assistant Estimator, you will be responsible for evaluating project requirements, preparing accurate cost estimates, and ensuring projects stay within budget. You will work closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide clear and comprehensive breakdowns of costs. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your expertise to a dynamic team and play a pivotal role in the success of our projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for construction, engineering, or other relevant projects.
  • Review project documentation, including drawings, specifications, and contract terms.
  • Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to gather quotes and confirm pricing.
  • Analyze costs of materials, labour, equipment, and overheads to generate cost-effective estimates.
  • Provide advice on budget constraints and recommend cost-saving strategies.
  • Monitor and track project costs during construction to ensure alignment with estimates.
  • Assist in preparing tender submissions and bids for new projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates and project details for future reference.

Skills & Experience:

  • Strong understanding of cost estimation software and tools.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Relevant qualifications in construction, engineering, or related disciplines (e.g., HNC, HND, degree).
  • A good understanding of industry standards, regulations, and health and safety requirements.
