This role will lead on a range of engineering including product development, NPI and working with a broad client base from concept through to delivery.

My client are a prestigious engineering organisation based in South Yorkshire. They design and manufacture a wide range of mechanical product for supplying high end technical organisations, both across the UK and internationally.
Following a period of sustained growth and investment, this business is now looking for a Principle Engineer to lead on a range of activities within their new product introduction team. This role will look after product engineering, new product introduction/development (NPI/NPD) and work proactively with the commercial teams and customers.
Description
The Principle/Product Engineer will be responsible for designing new product concepts based on market trends and customer needs.
Other day to day responsibilities will include:
- Designing complex engineered solutions alongside a growing customer base to meet upcoming market trends
- Liaising with all internal stakeholders in the product lifecycle to get new concepts from prototype to manufacture
- Being involved in peer-to-peer feedback on other product designs from the wider team
- Ensuring a holistic approach to the team's work - including factors like commercial, manufacturing, assembly and product application
- Capturing existing business knowledge in SOPs and developing these for new systems
Profile
Successful candidates will have a strong design for manufacture background and a proven ability in the pressure equipment, rotating equipment, plant/processing equipment or similar safety critical industry.
You will be an experienced design/product Engineer and possess:
- A sold foundation in core engineering principles
- An understanding of material science, fluid dynamics or mechanical processing equipment design for manufacture
- Act as an agent for change within the business, striving with positive aggression to better the business in everything you do
- Be a self-starter and someone who operates well with minimal direction
- Have an understanding of product testing methods used to replicate real-world conditions and ability to use these as part of the design process
