About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Adult & Community Learning Manager to lead the development and delivery of high-quality, accessible adult education programmes across our college sites and local communities. This role plays a vital part in inspiring and supporting adults to achieve, gain new skills, and progress into further training or employment.

You will oversee curriculum design in areas such as Employability, ESOL, and Community Learning, ensuring the offer meets local needs, responds to labour market demands, and embraces innovative technologies. Working closely with senior leaders, you will build strong partnerships with employers, local authorities, schools, and community organisations, ensuring learners have clear progression pathways and opportunities for work experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead curriculum planning and delivery for Adult & Community Learning.

  • Motivate and manage teaching and support staff, setting high expectations for learner success.

  • Drive quality improvement in teaching, learning, and assessment.

  • Develop business and community links to strengthen opportunities for learners.

  • Contribute to recruitment, marketing, and engagement activities to grow learner numbers.

  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, and data protection policies.

About You

  • Proven leadership and management experience in adult/community education.

  • Teaching qualification and subject-relevant professional qualification (or willingness to work towards).

  • Strong curriculum knowledge with experience embedding quality improvement processes.

  • Ability to build effective stakeholder partnerships and respond to local priorities.

  • Committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and delivering excellent learner outcomes.
