We're working with a world-renowned organisation at the forefront of fusion energy development - and they're looking for a Senior Thermal Hydraulic Analyst to join their multidisciplinary engineering team. This is a rare opportunity to apply your simulation expertise to some of the most complex and advanced design challenges in the energy sector.

?? The Role
As a Senior Thermal Hydraulic Analyst, you'll provide critical technical input in computational thermal hydraulics and heat transfer analysis. You'll play a key role in assessing and optimising high-performance fusion components using simulation tools like Ansys Fluent and Workbench.

This is a technically rich role, where your modelling insights directly influence the design of next-gen nuclear systems.

?? What You'll Be Doing:
* Developing and applying advanced CFD and FEA models to simulate component performance under extreme thermal and fluid dynamic conditions.
* Building and refining complex 3D geometries, conducting mesh independence studies, and applying parameterisation techniques for robust design evaluation.
* Leveraging expert knowledge in turbulence, conduction, convection, and radiation to critically evaluate results and inform design decisions.
* Validating CFD outcomes with analytical and semi-analytical models, including 1D/2D methods.
* Contributing to technical documentation, peer reviews, and external publications.
* Promoting a strong safety culture and collaborating across a cross-functional R&D environment.

?? What You'll Need:
* A degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent experience in a research-led environment.
* Proven background in thermal hydraulics and heat transfer simulations within a research or advanced engineering setting.
* Proficiency in CFD (especially Ansys Fluent/Workbench), meshing complex 3D geometries, and applying mesh refinement techniques.
* Strong understanding of turbulence modelling and first-principles analytical methods.
* Confident communicator with a detail-oriented mindset and strong problem-solving capabilities.

?? Bonus Points For:
* Experience with OpenFOAM or other major CFD software.
* Familiarity with 1D network simulation tools such as Flomaster or OpenModelica.
